Dear John,
This past week, I hit the road and headed to Michigan — a state that’s always in the spotlight and, in the year ahead, could hold the keys to our democracy’s future. I wanted to share a quick recap and pass along a Voter Registration Toolkit [[link removed]] you can use in your own communities. Our shared goal is ambitious, but doable: Host at least 2–5 voter registration drives each month across the country .
Because of your dedication and commitment, we have the volunteer power to match the energy we’re seeing at rallies, on college campuses, and even at Coachella. Now it’s time to turn that energy into ACTION — conversations, registrations, and relationship-building that fuel long-term change.
That's why we planned a four-day trip to Michigan:
- We started at Michigan State University in East Lansing.
- Held a Tuesday morning meet & greet at the Drip House Coffee in Ann Arbor.
- Went to the University of Michigan for more registration, and I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by the campus’s voter outreach efforts overall.
- Wrapped up the week at Wayne State in Detroit!
By the end, we registered six new voters — not huge numbers, but every registration matters . More importantly, we had dozens of meaningful conversations with students and volunteers. This is what organizing looks like: slow, steady, and personal.

At Wayne State, we set up across from a table pushing anti-trans rhetoric and MAGA messaging. It was a stark reminder: If we’re not out there — they are . We don’t show up to match hate with hate.

We show up to out-organize it, out-connect it, and outlast it.
If you want to get more involved, reply to this email. We’re building toward the next election and it’s not just about 2026. Major races are happening this year in New Jersey and Virginia. And looking ahead, we’ve got the 2030 Census and 2032 redistricting on the horizon. The opposition is already working to silence voices. We’re here to make sure every voice is heard and every vote counts.
Thanks to volunteers like you, we’re already making waves: This month alone, we’re hosting over 15 community meet-and-greets in cities like Huntington Station, NY; Richmond, VA; Belfast, ME; Lilburn, GA; and Milford, NH.
Picture a map dotted with connection points across America — that’s what you’re helping to build. That’s the power of showing up.
We’re so grateful for everything you do and want to keep this going. We hope to see you out on the road soon.
And if you can, chip in today. [[link removed]] We’re working to scale this from city to city, state to state, and every dollar helps us print materials, train volunteers, and show up where it counts.
CHIP IN [[link removed]]
With gratitude,
Jacqueline Westman
