![]() Patriot, The Statists are getting ready to take another piece of our privacy away from you and me. Last week, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pulled a Friday night surprise and took a page from the former Biden administration's playbook and announced that starting on May 7, she will ban Americans from flying or entering certain federal buildings unless they possess a digital ID linked to a national database: The so-called “REAL ID.” That's right: Kristi Noem just affirmed the deadline the Biden regime put in place late last year.
The mandate was first enacted by Congress way back in 2005 when the government was blaming the lack of a national tracking tool as the reason they failed to prevent the September 11 attacks. But year after year, the deadline was pushed back, because nobody wanted it. People hate it. Airlines oppose it. Even state governments don't want to implement it – just today, media reported New Jersey residents are frantic because there aren’t even appointments available to acquire a REAL ID. So, the Biden regime put its foot down. The TSA put out a rule during the closing days of the administration mandating two years of “progressive enforcement” with “progressive consequences” starting on May 7. Now, current DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is boasting that she will enforce the deadline.
You and I MUST resist this unconstitutional mandate! This is an assault on your liberty. Fully implemented, the NATIONAL ID - which the REAL ID is – will be digitized, embedded on your phone, made real-time and remotely accessible, and used to track and control travel, movement, purchases, and transactions. REAL ID may lead to a China-like social credit system, be linked to a global identification system where your medical records, bank transactions, and more are all kept in a master government database. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) has been warning the REAL ID may be used to control Americans. He’s urging President Trump not to enforce it. Massie rightly pointed out: REAL ID isn’t needed and won’t stop terrorists from hijacking planes.
REAL ID is a national standard and database of IDs that is primarily a tool for control of Americans. Its power and purpose will be realized when everyone complies, but not before. REAL ID provides no benefit yet presents a serious risk to freedom. If the plane pilot’s door is locked and passengers are weapon-free, why does the government need to give you permission to fly? Real ID provides no benefit yet presents a serious risk to freedom. REAL ID is a massive threat to gun owners. Some states have already attempted to mandate REAL ID as a condition of buying a firearm. Ron Paul first warned of the threat of REAL ID in an address to Congress when the bill was passed 20 years ago: This is nationalization of all identification. It will be the introduction of the notion that we will be carrying our papers. It might actually be worse than just carrying and showing our papers, because there will be no limitation on the information that may be placed on this ID card...
The Secretary of Homeland Security can add anything it wants. If they would like to put on there you belong to a pro-gun group, it may well appear on your national ID card because there may be an administration that wants that information. There is no limitation as far as biometrics. There's no limitation as far as RFID. That technology is already available and being used in our passports. Which means that you don't have to show your papers, all you have to do is walk by somebody that has a radio frequency ability to read your passport or read your driver's license. In fact, then-DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff suggested REAL ID would be needed to “cash a check, hire a babysitter, board a plane or engage in countless other activities.” That was the DHS Secretary under a Republican President, George W. Bush. Now, Kristi Noem is continuing the tradition of the Department of Homeland Security assaulting the privacy and civil liberties of Americans. Fortunately, the wave of backlash is already coming. In addition to your Campaign for Liberty, Representative Thomas Massie is pushing back, and others – including Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul, of course – are sounding the alarm. And while we have every intention of seeing this battle through until Real ID is a relic of history, it is critical you exercise your rights as a free American and refuse to comply with this unconstitutional mandate. Stay tuned for our call to action to stop this assault on your privacy and your civil liberties.
