From my first day in Congress, I made it my mission to fight for the needs of working families and stand up to right-wing extremism.

But President Trump knows that -- and that's why he's desperate to replace me. Now, I'm one of the most vulnerable California Democrats in Congress.

I'll never sit by as extremists steamroll the progress we've made. But if we can't stand up to GOP attacks, my Democratic campaign could be over before it even starts.

I came to Congress to improve the lives of working families. My parents were immigrant farmworkers, and they pushed me to chase my dreams. Through hard work and access to quality public education, I became an Emergency Room doctor in a local community-hospital to give back to my community.

I am committed to supporting middle-class families in Congress. I'll never stop fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act, Planned Parenthood, and Medicare. That's why National Republicans want me gone.
