The 2023 Annual Survey of Jails dataset is now available

BJS has released the Annual Survey of Jails, 2023 dataset through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data. The collection provides national estimates on counts of persons held in local jails, admissions, releases, and staff; demographic characteristics and criminal justice status of the jail population; holds for federal and state prison authorities; and rated capacity of jails.
