Over the past few days, my team and A Woman’s Place sent out a couple of surveys so we could hear from you directly. We received so many responses back, so I wanted to reach out to thank you for participating.

A few weeks ago, we officially launched A Woman’s Place, and to date, hundreds of people who believe in our mission of electing more women to represent us have stepped up to become Founding Members.

Before I ever considered running for Congress, I had seen the difference that women can make when they have the opportunity to run and serve in growing numbers, both in our state and local governments and at the federal level.

Now that I am serving in Congress, I have seen the difference that women can make when they are elected, whether it is pushing forward ratification of the ERA or introducing a legislative “Momnibus” package to address maternal mortality. Women are already changing the face of politics, and our country needs more women in office to continue pushing for these important policies.

But running for public office as a woman isn’t easy -- there are societal obstacles and structural barriers to overcome. Thankfully, my race was made possible by the strong support I found in my community here in Pennsylvania. But there are other great women running for office who are facing even steeper climbs. That’s why we’ve formed A Woman’s Place, to provide financial resources to women who are running for elected office up and down the ballot.

Together, we can break down the systemic barriers and prejudices women face when running for office. In 2018, we elected our most diverse Congress, and with your help, we’re going to build on that historic success in elections to come.

After connecting with our leadership team, we’ve set ambitious goals for our first quarter, and we’re tracking our progress daily. Today, we need to raise $5,500 -- and I know we can do that if you’re with us.

Women are changing our political landscape with their campaigns for elected office up and down the ballot, but as I learned in my campaign for U.S. Congress, winning isn’t easy, and it takes a village.
