It’s tax day, so let’s talk about President Trump’s tax plan. True to fashion, he’s standing side-by-side with powerful billionaires and corporations this tax season. His proposed plan would cost more than $4 trillion dollars, lining the pockets of the wealthy while gutting critical social services like Medicaid.

Here are the details of Trump’s reverse Robin Hood scheme:

The wealthiest 5% of households would see 45% of the benefits. The wealthiest 10% would see 56% of the benefits. Does that sound fair to you?

Trump likes to say he is cutting taxes for everybody, but the devil is in the details. The richest 1% of households would save about $70,000 per year, while middle-class families would only save $1,000 annually.

That’s antithetical to everything I believe in. Instead of supporting middle-class families and small businesses, we’re making the very rich even richer. When we cut taxes, it’s working families who should benefit the most, not billionaires like Elon Musk.

Trump’s oligarchy administration is literally taking from the poor and giving to the rich. I’ll do everything I can to stop it, but the minority party only has so much power. Will you tell your friends and family who live in Republican districts that now is the time to speak out?
