As you know, our senior senator, Michigan’s senior senator, Gary Peters, recently announced that he won't seek re-election after this term.
That makes Michigan's Senate seat one of only two senate races in the country currently held by a Democrat happening in a state won by Donald Trump.
That means the Michigan Senate race will be the highest priority race for Republicans this cycle. We won our Senate race last cycle by about 19,000 votes – one of the closest races in the country – and we did it facing almost $80 million in outside spending trying to defeat us.
You might have heard that Mike Rogers, the man I beat last year, is running again. Mike knows how to run and starts with an existing fundraising network, base of volunteers, and millions of people who have already voted for him.
I will be all-in to support the eventual Democratic nominee in this race, just as Senator Debbie Stabenow was in my race, and I will do everything I can to make sure they are elected. One of the ways you and I can do that is by making a donation to the Michigan Senate Democratic nominee fund.
This is a fund that raises money for the winner of the 2026 primary and is available for them as soon as they win. Senator Stabenow raised into this fund in last year’s race, and when I won the primary, the funds were allocated to my campaign.
There will be a number of good candidates running in the Democratic primary for this Senate seat. Your help ensures that whoever wins is poised to head into the vital 2026 election strong.
Thank you,
Elissa Slotkin
