It’s been a tumultuous few months since Donald Trump retook office as president. He and his administration have brought chaos and confusion every day since inauguration. But Democratic governors like myself refuse to sit idly by in the face of their attacks. We’re ready to use every tool at our disposal – including taking Trump to court – to stop them.

Just take a look at some of the actions Dem govs have taken so far:

Maine Gov. Janet Mills just filed her lawsuit against Donald Trump for overreaching his authority and illegally freezing funds that go to feeding children in Maine.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump and his administration to stop them from dismantling the Department of Education, cutting critical public school funding, and hurting Wisconsin kids.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear joined a multi-state lawsuit against the Trump administration over cuts to health departments around the country by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

And the Democratic Governors Association is even suing Donald Trump over his unconstitutional Executive Order attacking voting rights.

But I have an urgent message for you: Democratic governors, the essential guardrails against extremism in the states, cannot deliver without support from grassroots Democrats like you.

We’re approaching our first major deadline of this quarter, and I don’t need to tell you again that everything is on the line this November and in 2026. With 38 governors’ races on the ballot, nearly three-quarters of our nation’s governors will be up for election. We already know the extreme GOP will throw everything they can at us to defeat Democratic governors and tear down our blue firewall, so your support has never been more important than it is in this moment.
