The Animal Welfare Act is meant to protect millions of animals housed in puppy mills and other USDA-regulated facilities, and yet repeat offenders who continue to violate basic standards of animal care receive little to no consequences because of the current lack of enforcement. This allows puppy mill operators to keep animals in deplorable conditions, with no water, untreated health concerns and more—all for the sake of profit. That’s why we’re fighting to pass the Better CARE for Animals Act to tackle this enforcement problem head-on by giving the U.S. Department of Justice the tools to collaborate more effectively with USDA to better enforce the Animal Welfare Act and save the lives of suffering animals before it's too late.

Friend, by fighting to change the laws that allow for this level of abuse to continue, we are tackling the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering. But this fight requires immense resources, and that’s why we need you by our side to help us reach our ambitious $50,000 fundraising goal before April 30.
