Yesterday, I volunteered at Meridian Elementary School to help distribute supplies for Michigan families impacted by the historic and devastating flooding in the area.

I also announced that I intend to apply for a major disaster declaration to get the necessary funding and help from the federal government to repair the damage.

Since the historic flooding, I've worked in partnership with local, state and federal officials to help families and business owners recover.

Between COVID-19 and these historic floods, Michigan has been faced with challenges unlike any we've seen before. My administration stands ready to continue to get our people what they need during these times to build upon the progress we've made in Michigan.

Michiganders are tough, and together, we can get through any challenge ahead of us.
