Dear John,
The Roosevelt Institute is excited to welcome Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman ([link removed]) as a senior fellow. In this role, he will draw on his macroeconomic expertise to contribute to Roosevelt’s mission of advancing a bold economic vision for the United States. Over his decades-long career at the New York Times, Krugman helped readers to make sense of the structural forces shaping the economy. On April 3, 2025, Krugman joined President and CEO Elizabeth Wilkins for a conversation about the current economic climate.

"Roosevelt has been a tremendous reservoir of progressive thinking and progressive economics,” Krugman shared during the discussion. “I was heavily reliant on Roosevelt research particularly during the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis . . . [There’s] still novel stuff going on, and this seemed like a good affiliation to have in these times, to join the ranks of people with Roosevelt affiliations who have been providing really urgent commentary."

Sincerely,
The Roosevelt Institute Team
