Hi John,
April 15 might bring some groans, today is Tax Day after all, but it is
also a chance to remember the good your dollars do.
A small portion of your tax dollars add up to funding for proven programs
that save lives around the world. Thanks to US investments in global
health, countries are enabled to be self-reliant, with healthy populations
that power healthy economies.
In DC, your tax dollars helped save 201,307 lives from HIV/AIDS,
vaccinated 1,293,476 children against preventable diseases, and
distributed 409,150 bed nets to fight the spread of malaria. And all of
this was achieved with just a tiny slice of the federal budget.
Just yesterday, more reports emerged that the administration will seek to
gut these lifesaving, cost-effective programs. Such efforts are not only
short-sighted—they’re dangerous.
Will you take a moment to stand up for what works? [ [link removed] ]Sign our petition now to reinforce
that the US must support smart, effective foreign assistance programs.
Let’s make sure America continues to be a force for good in the
world.
