NVIDIA Announces $500 Billion Investment Into the United States

Katie Pavlich: Artificial Intelligence and supercomputer company NVIDIA announced Monday it is opening up new factories in the United States for the first time… The White House is deeming the move part of “the Trump effect” to get companies to onshore their manufacturing (Townhall). Media Lies: Former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen claims that revitalizing Americas manufacturing base is a “pipe dream.” Within an hour of this statement, NVIDIA announced a $500,000,000,000 investment  plan that would debut the first American made supercomputer. Not so much of a pipe dream (X).

Nearly 100 Days After the Los Angeles Fires, Only a Handful of Permits Given to Homeowners to Rebuild Homes
David Strom: Remember the halcyon days after the Los Angeles fire when the governor of California and the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, promised that they would cut through all the red tape and get rebuilding going quickly. Good times. Good times indeed. Well, promises made, promises kept. The bureaucracy kicked into high gear and the permits for building are flying off the bureaucrats’ desks and out the doors of City Hall at breakneck pace. As of the end of last month four–count ’em, four!–permits have been issued! That, for the city, must be a record. It’s an all-hands-on-deck operation, working around the clock figuring out how to use this crisis–I mean opportunity for graft–to play sim city with hundreds of acres of prime real estate (HotAir). Will O’Neill: Nearly 100 days after the fires in Los Angeles and it’s going about how you’d expect from L.A.’s leadership. Only four permits for homeowners to rebuild their properties had been issued by the City of Los Angeles by the end of March. Which was four more than L.A. County issued in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire (X).

Law Enforcement Arrest Suspect in Arson Attacks at Tesla Dealership, GOP Headquarters in New Mexico
Townhall: An Albuquerque man with a disturbing criminal history has been charged in connection with two politically charged arson attacks—one targeting a Tesla dealership and the other the Republican Party of New Mexico’s headquarters. The suspect, who had previously expressed anti-establishment and extremist views, is now facing federal charges as authorities investigate what appears to be a deliberate assault on political and economic symbols that don’t align with far-left ideology… On April 12, the FBI and ATF searched Wagner’s home and uncovered significant evidence tying him to both arson attacks. Among the items found were a white cardboard box containing eight suspected incendiary devices, blue Styrofoam egg cartons matching the polystyrene used in the improvised napalm at the Tesla fire, and jars with green gingham-style lids similar to one recovered at the Republican Party of New Mexico fire. Investigators also found several jars labeled with handwritten capital letters “I” or “H,” consistent with markings seen on lids at both crime scenes. Wagner has been charged with two counts of malicious damage or destruction of property by fire or explosives and faces between five and 20 years in prison for each count (Townhall).

Trump Notifies Congress of Intent to Eliminate All Public Broadcasting Funding
New York Post: The White House has begun to notify Congress of its request to eliminate “all” public broadcasting funding and codify foreign aid cuts identified by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, The Post has learned. Major clawbacks in the so-called “rescissions” plan include $1.1 billion appropriated for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funds to PBS and National Public Radio, and $8.3 billion from USAID. A memo drafted by White House budget director Russ Vought — and requested by GOP congressional leaders — accuses CPB of a “lengthy history of anti-conservative bias” and cites “waste, fraud, and abuse” at USAID. Formal transmission of the plan to lawmakers will start a 45-day clock for the Republican-held House and Senate to either adopt or reject the blueprint, which the White House believes will pass — unlike President Trump’s 2018 rescission plan, which failed by one vote in the Senate (New York Post). Charlie Kirk: The Trump admin is planning to deliver on yet another campaign promise by asking Congress to cancel ALL public spending on PBS and NPR ($1.1 billion) and to codify foreign aid spending cuts identified by DOGE at USAID (another $8.3 billion). The government isn’t allowed to fund Christian programming on the grounds that it is religious, so why should it be any different for the secular religion of woke leftism? Defund the beast (X).

PETA Praises Trump for Putting an End to Animal Testing in Drug Development
Townhall: The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to phase out animal testing in drug development. The agency announced the plans on Thursday, specifying that they plan to replace animal testing in the development of monoclonal antibody therapies and other drugs with “human-relevant methods.” According to the FDA, this will improve drug safety and accelerate the evaluation process, while reducing animal experimentation, lowering research and development costs, which lowers drug prices… The left-wing organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) praised Trump’s decision (Townhall). PETA: PETA thanks the Trump administration for modernizing the FDA and helping spare tens of thousands of animals each year from being killed in expensive and archaic laboratory tests (X).

ICE Arrests Illegal Immigrant Who Faces 20 Charges of Sex Crimes Against Minors
Townhall: In yet another disturbing example of sanctuary policies putting Americans at risk, Immigration Customs and Enforcement in Boston arrested an illegal Ecuadoran immigrant this week who is now facing over 20 sex crime charges involving a Massachusetts minor. Despite a clear ICE detainer request, the local jurisdiction chose to ignore it—releasing the suspect back into the community instead of handing him over to federal authorities. Sixty-four-year-old Gilberto Avila-Jara was arrested by ICE for committing more than 20 charges of child sexual assault and rape. He illegally entered the United States on February 10, 1996, in California and was caught by Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) officials in March of that year. He was ordered by an immigration judge to be sent back to Ecuador but illegally re-entered the U.S. at an unknown location and on an unknown date. In December 2020, the Lawrence District Court arraigned Avila-Jara on more than 20 charges, including indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, rape of a child with force, and aggravated statutory rape of a minor. ICE filed an immigration detainer with the Lawrence Police Department; however, the court refused to honor the request and released Avila-Jara on bail on March 17, 2021. According to authorities, the illegal immigrant remained at large until his arrest on April 1, 2025 (Townhall). Kristi Noem: Does Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu think these pedophiles are above the law? Imagine what our ICE officers could do without Sanctuary City policies that protect illegal alien criminals including child predators, murders, and rapists (X).

El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele Visits Trump at White House
Townhall: President Donald Trump will host El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele at the White House Monday as the Department of Homeland Security ramps up deportations. “If he can take these horrible criminals for less money than it costs us, I’m in—but I only do things in accordance with the law,” Trump said last week. After a visit from Secretary of State Marco Rubio in February, Bukele agreed to accept illegal immigrants in the U.S. for imprisonment in his country. Bukele has an 80 percent approval rating after winning a landslide election and cracking down on crime (Townhall). Collin Rugg: President Trump has multiple members of his admin take turns ripping CNN’s Kaitlan Collins after she asked why an alleged MS-13 member was deported to El Salvador. Pam Bondi, Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, as well as Nayib Bukele all ripped the media after Collins asked about releasing an alleged MS-13 member (X).

Senator Elizabeth Warren Calls for Investigation Into Trump’s Tariff Pause Citing Insider Trading
Townhall: Democrats are still trying to con the nation into believing President Donald Trump and his allies engaged in insider trading after he instituted a 90-day pause on the global tariffs he announced earlier this month. Sen. Elizabeth “Lie-a-watha” Warren (D-MA) recently capitalized on this hoax by calling on the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an investigation into the Trump administration over the matter. She believes it makes sense to combat government corruption by squandering taxpayer dollars on yet another politically motivated investigation (Townhall). Reporter Jeff Charles: Sen. Elizabeth “Lieawatha” Warren explains why she called for an SEC investigation into President Trump. She and her comrades are accusing him of “insider trading” after 90-day pause on tariffs. “It’s entirely appropriate to have an investigation to make sure that Donald Trump, Donald Trump’s family, Donald Trump’s inner circle, didn’t get advanced information and trade on that information” (X).

Taylor Lorenz Attempts to Respond to Backlash Over Comments Gushing Over Alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione
HotAir: Taylor Lorenz has, a number of times, claimed that she is not at all–not even a little bit, you know–saying that she wants people to go out and kill healthcare executives. This is, of course, complete horse manure. And I know that because she also calls Luigi Mangione a “morally good” man, that she felt “joy” when Brian Thompson was shot in the back on the streets of New York, and that she totally gets why so many women find Luigi so darn dreamy. She exemplifies par excellence of the “I don’t approve of violence, but…” While many people who default to this step away from violence before embracing it a bit more slyly, Taylor goes for broke and doesn’t just fangirl the idea of striking a blow against evil capitalists. She embraces the people who do it to the point of suggesting that such people are sexy heroes (HotAir). RedState: In the aftermath of the backlash Lorenz and CNN have received, Lorenz is now trying to defend herself, saying she was just sharing how Mangione’s fans feel about him (RedState). This was Lorenz back in December: “I felt, along with so many other Americans, joy…” Piers Morgan is left astounded as Taylor Lorenz gives her thoughts on the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson (X).

Karmelo Anthony Released on Bond After Judge Reduces Bail by 75 Percent
New York Post: The Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing another high schooler at a track meet has had his bond reduced to $250,000 and will be granted house arrest, a judge ruled on Monday. A judge in Collin County slashed the 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony’s initial $1 million bond and said he may await trial at home with an ankle monitor and 24-hour supervision from his parents or an “adult designee.” Anthony has been locked in Collin County Jail for allegedly stabbing Austin Metcalf, also 17, in the heart during a fight over a seat at a track meet on April 2. He is charged with first-degree murder (New York Post). Brandon Tatum: Karmelo Anthony has just been released from jail on bond after the judge lowered it from $1 million to $250,000. The family of Karmelo Anthony has raised a total of $420,000. The family of Austin Metcalf has only raised $340,000. Why does society REWARD BAD BEHAVIOR (X)?
