John,
Congressional Republicans are working hand-in-hand with the Trump administration to pass a bill that’s going to savage Medicaid and strip away critical programs from Americans in order to give bigger tax cuts to the wealthy — and they’re avoiding their own constituents while they do it.
That’s why last night, I joined a People’s Town Hall in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. Since their Republican Congressman refuses to show up to listen to his constituents, I joined Senator Mark Kelly, former Representative Gabby Giffords, and Congressman Greg Stanton to hear directly from folks in Tucson about their concerns and what’s at stake.

We showed up to center YOUR voices. We showed up to center YOUR stories.
The truth is that right now, our nation is in crisis. The President has inflicted harm after harm on Americans’ safety, financial stability, the foundations of our democracy, and any sense of common decency.
But we are not powerless. There are tens of thousands of Americans standing up and fighting back against the Trump administration every single day. They’re showing up at town halls like the one I just attended. They’re calling their Republican representatives. They’re protesting. And they’re showing up at voting booths across the country.
As a young man, my parents made it very clear that you need to stand up, even if your legs shake. You need to stand up and speak, even if your voice breaks.
Our nation has been founded and formed and shaped and bent by the American people, but change hasn’t always come from Washington. Change has often come to Washington by people who stand up, use their voices, and demand it.
This is a moral moment — one where we all need to speak out against injustice and for truth. And after so many Arizonans joined us yesterday to raise their voices alongside ours, I was filled with hope.
We need your voice too, John. If you haven’t stepped up and spoken out already, you still have time. It’s never too late. And when you do, you won’t be alone. You’ll be joining the hundreds of thousands of Americans who not only recognize the urgency of this moment but are willing to fight for justice and equality.
With love and gratitude,
Cory
