Donald Trump, like every other American, is not above the law. He must serve the Constitution he swore to protect and abide by the rulings of a co-equal Judicial Branch.

By grabbing Kilmar Abrego García off the street and sending him to a foreign prison in El Salvador, without evidence of wrongdoing or any sort of hearing, the Trump administration is claiming the kind of tyrannical power that the American Revolution was fought to ensure never happens again.

Despite the Supreme Court ordering them to return him to his family in the US immediately, Trump is refusing.

In America, the President is not a king who can disappear our neighbors into a brutal foreign prison with no judicial process. As a Jew, I know in my bones how bad it can get if we allow this sort of conduct to stand.

It’s more important than ever that we make our voices heard. Add your name to call on the Trump Administration to end their attacks against our checks and balances. Join me in telling the Administration to follow the law and stop attacking the American Constitution.

I am using my position on committees to hold these extremists accountable for ripping up our system of laws and precedent. Anything less is a failure to uphold our oath of office.

I will continue to call out Republicans that are openly breaking the law, but I cannot do it without your support. We must speak out before we reach the point of no return.
