Hello,
Recent polling has already shown Donald Trump trailing Joe Biden by a double-digit margin. It's clear voters have begun to break away from Trump -- and now the president's own former loyalists are starting to do the same.
Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis sharply rebuked Donald Trump, saying, "When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens -- much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside."
Mattis's denunciation was backed up by John Kelly, Trump's former chief of staff -- who said the current situation should prompt Americans to, "look harder at who we elect."
The president has said he values loyalty above all else -- which means these disavowals by former top brass must have him fuming. Do you think Mattis and Kelly were right to condemn their president? Tell us:
