After the U.S. Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY ruled that the Trump
administration must facilitate the return of Maryland father Kilmar Abrego
Garcia from a mega-prison in El Salvador, the President and his team are
refusing to bring him home to his family.
[ [link removed] ]Politico: Trump administration contends it has no duty to return
illegally deported man to US. The administration's position suggests
officials do not view the Supreme Court's order as compelling them to seek
Abrego Garcia's return.
It’s bad enough that Trump’s administration ignored another judge’s order
to turn around the plane carrying Kilmar and over 200 other immigrants,
dooming them to indefinite imprisonment in a foreign country without due
process.
Now, they’re refusing to do right by this man and the rule of law despite
already admitting their mistake.
Not only is this a disturbing and cruel move to keep an innocent man
locked away in another country for no reason — it’s yet another signal
that this executive branch is openly defying our system of checks and
balances.
