In 24 hours, we face a huge FEC fundraising deadline. Let us tell you what that means for our fight to flip this Senate seat blue:
Before the primary, the Federal Election Commission requires our team to report how much money we’ve raised and from how many donors. Yep, that means Mitch McConnell’s right-wing megadonor network gets an in-depth look at how many people are donating to our campaign and what kind of team we’re building.
Believe us when we say that McConnell’s team (as well as the media) is going to pore over this report for anything they can exploit.
If they see any sign of weakness, say a missed fundraising goal or fewer grassroots donations than last quarter, we can expect an avalanche of nasty attacks to come our way. And that’s on top of all the dark money they’ve invested to outspend us nearly 3:1 in this election so far.
Hopefully, that explains the situation for you. We need to raise $100,000 in grassroots donations by tomorrow to ensure we report strong numbers to the FEC. So, we’re asking:
