Paid for by Nikki Budzinski for Congress

Folks, we need to talk to you about the SAVE Act.

Last week, House Republicans passed a bill that will fundamentally change the way we vote in this country.

Nikki voted NO on this legislation, friend — here’s why:

Elections need to be safe and secure so that we can peacefully transition power and uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land.

This legislation, however, is an attack on the right to vote and will disenfranchise millions of American citizens. If enacted, this legislation would require that everyone show a birth certificate or passport in-person to vote in U.S. elections.

More than 21 million people nationwide don’t readily have access to documents like these. Only about half of Americans own a passport. And millions of married women across the country could lose the right to make their voices heard at the ballot box simply by failing to change their name on their birth certificate.

While Republicans claim that this bill is designed to prevent undocumented immigrants from voting, that’s already against the law.

We can, and must, secure our elections without disenfranchising millions of American citizens from the ballot box. Will you pitch in right now to help us keep Nikki in Washington to protect our right to vote?

The SAVE Act would also disproportionately affect rural communities who would have to travel farther to fulfill the in-person requirements in the bill, as well as veterans and military members who vote with a military ID, an ID that would no longer be considered sufficient to vote.

Nikki is fighting hard in Washington against any attack on our right to vote — a bedrock of our democracy. Please, stand with her in this fight right now and pitch in today.

Thanks for everything,
