Friend,
Remember how Trump asked Big Oil CEOs for an eye-popping one billion (with a B) dollars last year to help him get reelected?
Well, now that he’s back in office, those oily CEOs have come knocking. Last week, Trump signed an executive order that would give the fossil fuel industry several gifts from its wishlist -- including taking steps toward shielding it from the myriad state- and community-level lawsuits and policies that currently seek to make Big Polluters pay.
These policies and liability suits are among the best tools that cities and states have to hold this dirty industry accountable for its decades of deception and the lives and livelihoods it’s already claimed. State attorneys general, local elected officials, and local community leaders are already bravely leading the way to make Big Polluters pay. It’s time for us to raise our voices in solidarity and protect their ability to do so.
Can you call your member of Congress right now? Together, we’ll say loud and clear: No to immunity for Big Oil. And no to undermining states’ ability to protect their residents from deadly industries.
Thanks for all you do,
Taylor Leake

Corporate Accountability stops transnational corporations from devastating democracy, trampling human rights, and destroying our planet. We are building a world rooted in justice where corporations answer to people, not the other way around -- a world where every person has access to clean water, healthy food, a safe place to live, and the opportunity to reach their full human potential.
