Sen. Cory Booker, Rep. Greg Stanton, my wife Gabby Giffords, and I held a town hall yesterday in Arizona’s 6th District, and we heard from a lot of scared, frustrated people.

They’re scared because Elon Musk and Donald Trump are tanking the stock market and our economy. They’re worried because Republicans have made it clear that they’re trying to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicaid. In Arizona, that could mean hundreds of thousands or even millions of people lose access to health care.

People are frustrated because too many of their Republican representatives won’t even show up to listen to them.

That’s why we held yesterday’s town hall — because everyone deserves to be heard, no matter who they cast a ballot for in November.

I’m showing up to town halls because I want to hear directly from my constituents. And I think Republicans in Congress should have to hear from theirs, too. But if they won’t show up to a town hall like this, then we have to be so loud they can’t ignore us.

Democrats are organizing town halls like these all over the country — a chance for all of us to make our voices heard in response to what we’re seeing from Trump and Musk. If work like this is worth a few dollars to you, I’m asking you to pitch in to the DNC to help fund it:

A lot of people are wondering what they can do right now — and here is my number one piece of advice: Keep showing up, keep doing the work, and don’t give up. The non-stop bad news can wear you down. But giving up and accepting defeat is exactly what Trump and Elon want. They’ll only succeed if we let them.

Thank you for all you’re doing, and for taking the time to read this message.
