Dear Green American,
Child labor has no place in slaughterhouses. It’s deplorable that multi-billion dollar meat and poultry companies are profiting from the hazardous work of children as young as 13.
Demand JBS, Perdue, Cargill, and Tyson Food put an end to child labor, now.
Child labor in the US is a growing problem. From 2015 to 2022, the number of minors employed in violation of child labor laws rose by 283%.
And, working on cleaning crews in slaughterhouses is hazardous work – surrounded by dangerous machinery that can easily rip off a person’s arm. Only adult workers are permitted to work in meatpacking plants – the work is far too dangerous for minors.
This is exactly the type of work children should never be exposed to – but, the largest (and most profitable!) meatpackers, JBS, Perdue, Cargill, and Tyson Foods, all have documented cases of child labor in recent years.
Tell major meatpackers that child labor should have no place in their facilities or any of their operations!
Don’t let the meat packing industry get away with endangering children.
Sign the petition to Tyson Foods, Cargill, Perdue Farms, and JBS demanding they take immediate action on child labor.
