John,
While the Trump administration dismantles the systems designed to protect our communities, we’re advancing real, meaningful progress – state by state.
But doing that requires an ongoing investment – from us, and from supporters like you. So we’re asking you to consider becoming a monthly donor to The Alliance – and here’s why:
The Trump administration has made it clearer than ever that they’re not investing in ending the gun violence epidemic. They eliminated the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, they scrubbed federal websites of public health data that tracked the gun violence epidemic, and just days ago, they ended the ATF’s zero-tolerance policy for negligent gun dealers – allowing known criminals to keep flooding our streets with illegal firearms.
This isn’t just indifference. It’s a coordinated effort to gut commonsense protections and appease the gun lobby, no matter the cost to public safety.
But here’s the good news: we aren’t waiting for politicians in DC to come to their senses. Across the country – and especially here in Washington state – we’re making real progress. We’re moving legislation to require safe firearm storage, restrict the bulk purchase of guns and ammunition, and keep firearms out of places where they simply don’t belong, like schools, hospitals, and public transit.
At the same time, voters are sending a clear message that we are fed up with what’s happening at the national level. Just recently in Wisconsin, they overwhelmingly elected a progressive candidate to the state Supreme Court, showing that people are ready to stand up and fight back.
Now it’s up to all of us to keep this momentum going. That means organizing, advocating, and pushing for more progress in more states – especially in the face of relentless federal rollbacks. But to do that, we need reliable, ongoing support from grassroots donors.
Becoming a monthly donor is the most powerful way to sustain this work. It gives us the stability to plan long-term campaigns, respond to urgent threats, and keep advancing the policies that will save lives.
If you're ready to invest in solutions that work – even when the federal government won’t – please start a monthly donation to the Alliance for Gun Responsibility today. $5, $10, or whatever you can give will go a long way.
Thank you,
The Alliance
