On Tuesday, April 15, the Census Bureau is scheduled to release new data from the Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections. This survey provides a summary of taxes collected by state for five broad tax categories and up to 25 tax subcategories.

Historical Post-Tax and Pretax Median Income: 2009 to 2023 [ [link removed] ]

Both post-tax and pretax median household income increased between 2009 and 2023, but the rise was 28 percent larger for pretax income.
