Dear neighbor,

This has been another chaotic past week in Washington. Trump’s tariffs are on, then they’re off. House Republicans say they have the votes to pass their backwards budget, then they don’t, then they do.

It’s frustrating and confusing. So, let’s set things straight.

Trump’s Tariffs created enormous volatility in the market. He promised a golden age, but he’s actively bringing us closer to a recession and increasing fears of mismanagement and corruption. House Democrats are fighting back, and we will hold MAGA extremists accountable for any insider trading or market manipulation.

Once again, House Republicans voted to pass their irresponsible budget that cuts Medicaid and SNAP to give tax cuts to billionaires. They also passed legislation to suppress voting rights and assert greater control over federal judges.

I voted no on all of these harmful bills. House Democrats all voted no on the Republican budget.

On Thursday, House Democrats and I held a hearing to expose how Trump and Republicans are harming our nation’s veterans. You can watch clips of it here and here.

Earlier last week, I hosted a press conference to call out Trump’s absence at a military transfer ceremony for four fallen U.S. soldiers. Where was he instead? At a golf tournament. Watch my remarks below:

I’m not giving up on this fight. There’s too much on the line. With you on our side, we can keep up the pressure and remind this Administration and Republican politicians who they work for: the people. That’s who I stand with, always.
