Hi team,
We could all use some uplifting updates these days.
So let’s catch up with a few candidates you helped elect last year as part of this team — two of them flipped Republican-held seats in Georgia’s General Assembly, one of them held off a GOP challenger by 48 votes , and you’ll be glad to see that they’re continuing to fight the good fight.

Rep. Floyd Griffin (H.D. 149)
A retired Army colonel, Rep. Floyd Griffin now serves in the Georgia House of Representatives. He recently introduced a bill to repeal the state’s school voucher program, which he said has failed to meet the needs of rural and urban students in particular, while it has cut vital resources for public education.

Rep. Tangie Herring (H.D. 145)
Rep. Tangie Herring describes herself as a “career classroom teacher, small business owner, and advocate for neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing.” She recently introduced bills to expand Medicaid, invest in clean energy, and increase salaries for school teachers.

Rep. Mack Jackson (H.D. 128)
Late last year, while also working to counter a GOP attempt to challenge his election victory, Rep. Mack Jackson co-chaired the House Rural Development Council as they released their 2024 policy recommendations, including on how to help communities recover from Hurricane Helene and increase rural access to health care.

We hope you’re proud to see how these leaders are fighting for their constituents. And we hope their work reminds you that — no matter how bleak the political headlines get — there are still strong public servants out there who treat elected office as a solemn opportunity to improve people’s lives.
And we get to have their backs.
We’re proud to have supported Rep. Griffin, Rep. Herring, and Rep. Jackson as part of our investments in last year’s elections. We engaged and turned out voters to help 33 pro-democracy champions defeat anti-voter Republicans in races for the Georgia General Assembly:
* Flipping two GOP-held seats (see above!)
* Holding three vulnerable Democratic seats — one by just 48 votes (see above!)
* Picking up two seats in the State House
* With no losses of Democratic seats in the State Senate
In 2025 and beyond, we’ll continue working to elect voting rights champions to state and local office in Georgia — while helping to advance pro-democracy leadership across the South.
And your support makes it possible. Thank you for everything you do.
The Fair Fight Team
