[1]NNU - Medicare for All!

Our Week of Action to stop nearly $1 trillion in proposed Medicaid cuts
begins TODAY! Throughout the week, volunteers are delivering tens of
thousands of petition signatures to their Congress members’ district
offices all over the country, and we’re increasing the pressure by asking
you to make a call to them as well.
It’s clear: the vast majority of Americans, regardless of political party,
oppose cutting Medicaid to pay for tax breaks for the wealthiest few. In
fact, 3 out of 4 people want to see Medicaid expanded!

To stop these devastating cuts, we need to make our voices heard in every
way possible, which is why we’re flooding Congress today with phone calls
   urging them to protect Medicaid.
Take a moment to call your representative and tell them: hands off
Medicaid! Use our hotline 202-978-5357 and feel free to follow our short
   script:
    Hi, my name is _______. I am a constituent and I’m a nurse/other health
care worker/patient/Medicaid recipient/ally. I’m calling today to urge you
to oppose any cuts to Medicaid. Cuts to Medicaid would take away people’s
health care and lead to hospital closures, especially in rural areas,
hurting entire communities. This is unacceptable and inhumane. I urge you
to vote no on the final budget reconciliation bill if it includes any cuts
                                  to Medicaid.
If you find out anything useful from your congressional office, [ [link removed] ]let us
   know here.
You may have heard that the House voted to adopt the Senate’s budget
resolution last week, but they only agreed to a framework to start the
process — there’s still time to stop these cuts! Congress still has to
draft a final bill with explicit funding details, which both chambers will
then have to pass before it makes its way to President Trump’s desk for
   signature.
By urging enough representatives to defend Medicaid, we have a real chance
at keeping these cuts out of the final budget package. House Speaker Mike
Johnson said his goal is to get a budget bill to Trump by Memorial Day, so
   time is of the essence!
Let’s turn the pressure up: make a call using our hotline (202-978-5357),
[ [link removed] ]then feel free to let us know how it went.
   In solidarity,
Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
