NYYRC Executive Committee 2025-2027 Term

The New York Young Republican Club would like to formally announce a changing of the guard on our Executive Committee.

In a Nominating Meeting of the Club on December 28, 2024, the following Officers were nominated unopposed and unanimously elected under Article XI, Sec. 3 of the Bylaws:

•  President: Gavin M. Wax

•  Vice President: Nathan E. Berger

•  Treasurer: Claire E. Walsh

•  Recording Secretary: Alexander B. Zhik

•  Corresponding Secretary: Alexis C. Winters

In the succeeding weeks, the following changes were made to the Executive Committee of the New York Young Republican Club:

Stefano L. Forte, formerly Chairman of the Queens Caucus, was appointed Executive Secretary by President Gavin M. Wax on January 10, 2025, and was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors.

Troy M. Olson was reappointed Sergeant-at-Arms by President Gavin M. Wax on January 10, 2025, and was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors.

Our beloved Vice President, Nathan E. Berger, formally resigned on February 20, and assumed his new role of Vice Chairman under Article V, Sec. 3 of the Bylaws. He will continue to offer the Club mentorship and guidance.

Stefano L. Forte was nominated by President Gavin M. Wax and unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors on February 20 to be our new Vice President. 

Alexander Ben Shmuel Zhik formally resigned as Recording Secretary on February 20. He was then appointed Counselor by President Gavin M. Wax and was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors. The new position of Counselor was created via an amendment to the Bylaws that was unanimously approved by the Board of Governors.

Philip J. Leggio, formerly our Law Chairman, was nominated by President Gavin M. Wax and unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors on February 20, 2025, to be our new Recording Secretary.

Michael R. Bartels, formerly our Advisory Chairman, was nominated on March 19 by President Gavin M. Wax and was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors to be our next Executive Secretary.

On April 6, our beloved President Gavin M. Wax, formally resigned as President of the New York Young Republican Club. Under Article V, Sec. 2 of the Bylaws, he now assumes the role of Chairman, where he continues to serve while pursuing new endeavors and broader impact.

Stefano L. Forte assumed his new role as President on April 9, in accordance with Article VI, Section 4(2) of the Bylaws. The New York Young Republican Club stands for bold, unapologetic leadership — and under Stefano’s direction, those values will only grow stronger. 

Brent A. Morden, formerly our Gala Chairman, was formally nominated by President Stefano L. Forte and unanimously confirmed by the Board of Governors on April 10 as our new Vice President.

Stefano, Brent, Phil, Alexander, and Michael are outstanding servants of the Club and will undoubtedly succeed in their new roles. Gavin and Nathan will offer guidance and mentorship in their new roles as Chairman and Vice Chairman. Claire E. Walsh and Alexis C. Winters continue in their duly elected two-year terms as Treasurer and Corresponding Secretary. Troy M. Olson continues as Sergeant-at-Arms in his duly appointed one-year term. Please congratulate the new members of the Executive Committee on their positions next time you see them!
