Over the weekend, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro sat with his family
to celebrate the Jewish holiday Passover, which celebrates freedom,
acknowledges the agony of slavery and oppression, and shines a light on
current injustices around the world.
Their holiday was interrupted by roaring flames after a man scaled a fence
and set fire to their home.
Governor Josh Shapiro sent a message to America: "We have to be better
than this!"
That's why we're emailing you today, Folks:. We cannot meet this
moment with silence. We can no longer hear the angry shouts of politicians
who seek to divide us, who demonize our neighbors, and who promote
violence and hatred.
We must stand with those who seek to unite us, who understand that we are
stronger when we work together, and that we are bound by the same goals of
making our world a better place.
