| For years, Earthjustice has pushed to update basic health and safety protections for lead contamination, whether that’s in lead dust, lead in drinking water, or lead paint. Throughout it all, advocates like you have reached out to agencies demanding stronger protections against lead. Last year, we got two enormous victories: the first rule designates any amount of lead dust found in schools, daycares, and homes as hazardous which could result in removal in some jurisdictions and the second rule we got on the books would require municipalities to replace lead service lines within the next ten years. But now, thanks to these Congressional resolutions, these protections could soon be revoked. |
| Repealing these rules would lock communities into outdated and weak standards indefinitely. |
