Notes from the Office of Speaker Mike Johnson Hello, friends! Thank you for subscribing to the Office of Speaker Johnson's newsletter highlighting what's happening on Capitol Hill and in Louisiana's 4th Congressional District. | On Thursday, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans adopted the budget resolution, which includes all the necessary components to secure our border, bolster our economy, ensure peace through strength, and unleash American energy dominance. Following passage, Speaker Johnson spoke with the media about the importance of taking the next step of the reconciliation process to enact President Trump's full America First agenda. This bill prevents federal district court judges from issuing unconstitutional, nationwide injunctions. Over the last 25 years, rogue judges have issued over two-thirds of all injunctions against President Trump, more than any President in American history. | Although the overwhelming majority of Americans believe in providing proof of citizenship to vote, 208 House Democrats voted against the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which ensures only Americans decide American elections. House Republicans stood united with the millions of legal American voters who want their voices heard – and protected – at the ballot box. Representatives from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the North Carolina Statuary Hall Selection Committee, and the state’s official sculptor presented him with the statue. | On Wednesday, Speaker Johnson visited with Caddo Magnet High School senior Maya Trutschl, this year's Congressional App Challenge winner for Louisiana's Fourth Congressional District. Maya's first-place app, "Cal Capture," streamlines the process of converting dates on paper documents into calendar entries.
