Dear John,
It’s been a turbulent week. But for me, it has also been a really hopeful one.
The protests last Saturday were very uplifting. Millions of people stood up against this MAGA regime and for our democracy. There were massive protests in major cities, but there were also smaller protests all around the country — including in very red areas.
Watching people come out in their communities, stand together, and make their voices heard in these demonstrations is incredibly inspiring.
We need to keep this momentum forward, and we can’t do it without your support. Will you raise your hand and step forward today to host a Blue Wave house party?
I’M INTERESTED! ➜
We must take that inspiration and keep our foot on the gas because there are seemingly endless terrible attacks we need to respond to.
If the wild stock market swings — caused by the stupidest tariffs rollout ever conceived — wasn’t enough, we are now facing new restrictive voting requirements in the Republican’s so-called “SAVE” Act.
This new law would require a passport or birth certificate to register to vote.
This could immediately disenfranchise 69 million women whose birth certificate no longer matches their legal name. So, this is a clear attack on women, our voting rights, and on free and fair elections. 21 million Americans don’t have access to a passport or birth certificate. Only half of Americans even have a passport, and they are not easy, or cheap documents to get.
We must fight this and we have to ensure that Democrats retake the U.S. House in 2026 so that instead of passing legislation like the SAVE Act, we can pass legislation like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
That’s why we are asking fired up Democrats to do one thing today: Please click here to raise your hand to host a house party to mobilize your friends and neighbors.
Aren’t ready to organize an event? Totally get it. Would you consider pitching in a donation of $50 or $100 to fund our mobilization efforts?
Action is the best antidote for anxiety, and joy is a revolutionary act, so thank you for reading this and let’s go into the next week energized and ready to fight.
In solidarity,
— Steve
