Support Grants for Business - two available

1. Business Support Grant

*Who's it for?*If youpay rates to Nottingham City Councilandcurrently receive Small Business Rate Relief or if your rateable value is below 51,000 and your business is part of the retail/leisure/hospitality industry, you may be eligible for a grant of 10,000 - 25,000.

*NB* if you are ineligible for this grant, you may be eligible for the Nottingham Small Business Fund (see below).

2. Nottingham Small Business Fund

*Who's it for?* Businesses outside of the scope of the Small Business Rates Relief scheme to support them with ongoing fixed costs, e.g. fixed property costs. Those who have previously received the Small Business Grants Fund and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants will not be eligible for this grant.

*NB* those who have previously received the Small Business Grants Fund and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants will not be eligible for this grant.

Grants of up to 2,500, 5,000 and a maximum award of 10,000 will be available for businesses who were trading prior to 11 March and who have been ineligible for other grant funding.This includes:


* Those in shared or flexible workspaces;
* Market and street traders;
* Charities, social enterprises, and cooperatives; and
* Other businesses with a rateable value between 15,000 and up to 51,000 who have been forced to close or reduce trade.

Due to the limited funding available and expected over-subscription to the scheme, grant applications will need to be submitted to the City Council for assessment, with payments expected to start in June. *APPLY NOW* [ [link removed] ](click "continue without an account" if you don't have one).

Support for Employers making Redundancies

* *Redundancy support* if you have already made employees redundant or are about to, we can support both you as an employer and your employees to manage the transition through online group sessions and one-2-one support using Microsoft teams.
* *Training* Nottingham Jobs partners can deliver pre-employment training, licences or other technical requirements necessary for staff to perform the duties required in the new roles of your changing workforce. We can help address this through online learning platforms such as BKSB for Functional Skills and European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
* *Online recruitment support* linking our candidate pool with your workforce needs. We can source, assess and screen candidates according to your specification and assist you to engage with them, virtually. This includes promotion and advertisement of vacancies, application sessions, and candidate briefings on role requirements.

These activities will deliver asubstantial pool of good quality candidates drawn from sectors that are contracting as result of the situation with COVID-19 and the Governments advice and restrictions.
* *Apprenticeship delivery* our apprenticeship offer to businesses is continuing. If you are ready to take on a new apprentice, or to support existing staff to begin a training programme, we can help you to understand apprenticeships, access funding including NCC levy transfers, keep your team engaged and get the right skills in your business. "If you are adopting the Job Retention scheme your team can start or continue an apprenticeship training programme while they are furloughed".
