Demand a Special SB City Council Meeting to End Renovictions!

Hi John,

Due to the hard work of SB City Councilmember Wendy Santamaria and her supporters in DSA, SBTU, and other groups, a measure to strengthen tenant protections and effectively ban renovictions within the city was on the council agenda for April 8. After that meeting was cancelled due to the sudden heart attack of Councilmember Eric Friedman, the measure was not placed back on the council agenda due to the likely meddling of Mayor Randy Rowse and City Administrator Kelly McAdoo.

However, we have a four-member majority on the council who is known to be sympathetic to working tenant struggle, and we need to demand that those members call a special meeting to get the renoviction measure passed. Click here to send a letter to those members now. Dozens of tenants around Santa Barbara are under active threat of renoviction and can't afford any more delays on the part of City Council.
