Advocating for Agriculture

One of my top priorities in Congress is advocating and delivering for our farmers and ranchers in TX-23.

Whether it's fighting for a strong farm bill or securing funding for better water infrastructure, I'm focused on delivering for the ag community.

Recently,  I've led efforts to expand containment efforts for a parasite known as the "New World screwworm," which could cause serious damage to livestock if left unchecked.

Through bipartisan outreach with my colleagues, I am working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to invest in new efforts to eradicate this pest and protect our producers from an outbreak.

USDA Disaster Designation Resources

From unpredictable weather events to market fluctuations, farmers and ranchers face numerous challenges.

To support agricultural producers in managing these risks, the U.S. Department of Agriculture offers a suite of programs to support American producers.

Improving Veteran Services

Our veterans deserve the best quality of care.

This week, I voted for the Clear Communication for Veterans Claims Act on the House Floor. This bipartisan legislation ensures that the VA communicates with veterans on the status of their benefits claims so they can make informed, clear decisions.

I also cosponsored and voted for the Deliver for Veterans Actwhich enhances the mobility and independence of disabled veterans by improving their access to adaptive vehicles.

Strengthening Election Security

Election integrity is essential to protecting every American's vote at the ballot box.

That's why I voted YES on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives this week.

The SAVE Act helps protect the integrity of our federal elections by requiring proof of citizenship for all new voter registrations.
