Social Security is facing a test like never before at the hands of Musk, Trump, and DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency). People across the country are lining up at whatever understaffed field offices Musk hasn’t shuttered to ask for help and make sure they receive their benefit checks.1 Meanwhile, Musk continues plowing ahead with his disastrous cuts.

Social Security’s website keeps crashing and phone lines are being cut.2 Thousands of workers are being fired. Musk and his DOGE cronies continue spreading reckless disinformation about fraud. The richest man in the world is trying to take away the monthly income that 73 million Americans need.

Former Social Security officials are warning about delayed Social Security checks and a Musk “blueprint” to destroy the program from the inside.3 This is an emergency for tens of millions of Americans. Congress must stop DOGE’s drive to end Social Security.

In Glendale, Arizona this week, a line of people outside of the local Social Security office begged to speak to someone, saying they had called for days with no answer. Some had driven from far away.4 This is just one example of what is happening all across the country — turmoil and fear caused by Elon Musk.

The head of Social Security under Pres. Biden amplified his warnings that benefits checks could be delayed by the reckless actions of Trump and Musk.5 Trump’s government has gone after Social Security with a complete disregard for the income that seniors and people with disabilities rely on.

We need to fight for Social Security right now, before Musk and DOGE delay and cut benefits for millions.
