Do you know what’s in a drop of seawater? Scientists estimate that some drops may contain as many as a million organisms, most too small to see with the naked eye. For the past several years, Spanish photographer Angel Fitor has been collecting water from the Mediterranean and photographing the minute critters within it.
While these tiny creatures and their water worlds are often overlooked, Fitor likens each sample to opening presents on Christmas morning when he was a child. “You never know what is in a sample until you place it under the lens,” he says, “It feels like a genuine discovery.”
