John, on Thursday the House passed a bill that could silence millions of eligible voters – maybe even you or someone you love.

They call it the “SAVE Act” but we call it a modern-day poll tax.

What else do you call forcing millions of Americans – first-time voters and long term – to jump through new bureaucratic hoops just to cast a ballot next year?

This bill is a disaster for your rights and mine – and if passed, it will:

• Make it much tougher for married women who’ve changed their name to vote – like something straight out of the Handmaid's Tale.
• Force voters to provide in-person proof of citizenship—like a passport or birth certificate— just to register or update their voter registration.
• Ban online voter registration (which 42 states currently have), voter registration drives, and mail-in registration, which millions of Americans rely on.

John, we can’t let this anti-voter wish list become law. That means we need to stop it in the Senate – and we have just a few short weeks to make sure Senators hear from us.
