Dear Friend --

Today we are proposing a major new fund and initiative to directly support the small businesses that were affected by vandalism and looting on Sunday, May 31. We are committed to ensuring every single business that was impacted receives direct grant assistance from the city.

Regardless of the impact, whether it was vandalism, or a complete loss or major loss—we are going to help. We are also going to partner with our local business associations and improvement districts on how to help these small businesses with direct assistance, streamlined permitting, and tax credits.

The goal is simple, to do everything we can as a community to help and support our small businesses so they can quickly reopen and stay open long after the city has cleaned up and has moved on to the recovery stage of this historic period.

Thank you for joining me to support our local small businesses. If you are a small business that needs assistance, or in a position to donate to businesses which need the help, please call 562-570-4BIZ or email [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>

Go Long Beach and please stay safe,

Mayor Robert Garcia
