No, that’s not
a misprint — Elon Musk spent $291 million in the 2024 election. After that
investment paid off for him, he used millions more to try and buy the
Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

Elon’s not alone: Linda McMahon, who is gleefully dismantling the
Department of Education as its new Secretary, paid more than $40 million
to Trump and his Super PACs. Howard Lutnick, the Secretary of Commerce,
paid $9 million.

Elections should not be won by the highest bidder. Cabinet positions
should not be for sale. Another way is possible, and I’m living proof.
With your support, I became the first Black woman and first person of
color to represent Massachusetts in the House of Representatives. We did
that. We did it with a grassroots fundraising operation, without accepting
a dime from corporate PACs (and I still don’t).

From fighting for paid leave, advocating for student debt cancellation,
creating programs to celebrate and support Black men, and once again
calling for a ceasefire in Gaza to bring an end to violence in the region,
I lead with love and center the people.

pitches in, we can match their energy. If you’re able, can you please
pitch in
$25 or
anything you can to strengthen our movement?

Elon Musk and billionaires like him are pouring millions of dollars into
Republican Super PACs to advance their right-wing interests. They are
actively lining their pockets with profits at the expense of the people.
And sadly, our flawed campaign finance laws — and the Citizens United
Supreme Court decision — allow this to happen.

We can, and we will, reform this unjust system. In the long-term, that
means overturning the Supreme Court’s ruling on Citizens United. It means
expanding the number of justices sitting on the Supreme Court. And it
means passing a binding code of ethics for justices to ensure
accountability and restore integrity in the Supreme Court.

But in the short-term, right now, it means supporting progressives who
refuse corporate PAC money. We don’t answer to billionaire crypto bros or
“Democratic” PACs funded by Republicans. We answer to the people — and
help bring people closest to the pain closest to the power.

policies that help people, not corporate interests. Please, if you can,
make a gift today to fuel our fight.

Yours in service,

Ayanna
