Our mission is urgent. Every year, more than 1.8 million LGBTQ+ young people in the United States seriously consider suicide. When LGBTQ+ young people report feeling accepted by an adult, their odds of attempting suicide are significantly lower. In many instances, by more than 40%.
Because of caring people like you, Trevor crisis counselors supported more than 450,000 contacts last year — helping LGBTQ+ youth find hope during their most difficult moments. Your support ensures that an affirming adult is just a call, text, or chat away.
In the next few months, I will be meeting with colleagues across The Trevor Project to review our budget for fiscal year 2026. Before then, we must know which planned programs we will be able to fund and to what extent.
