LOGO [[link removed]]Hi John,

The Maine Senate Democratic Primary debate just ended. I answered a lot of questions, but one none of us could answer was: Why is Sara Gideon refusing to debate?

If you think all Democrats should be held accountable to voice their opinions and speak with constituents, will you support my campaign today? [[link removed]]

It is critical that Mainers hear from every Democrat in the race right now before early voting starts. Both Bre Kidman and I were there, but Sara Gideon decided at the last moment to not attend. In my opinion, that’s disrespectful not just to me and Bre, but to Maine voters.

Can you support my campaign today? We need a Senator who shows up and is ready to tackle our nation’s issues head-on. [[link removed]]

Here are some of the questions that Democrats across Maine hoped Sara Gideon would answer: *
At
a
time
when
COVID-19
has
left
millions
of
Americans
out
of
work
and
without
health
insurance,
why
doesn’t
Sara
support
Medicare
for
All?
*
With
unchecked
CO2
emissions
skyrocketing
and
climate
change
threatening
our
environment,
why
doesn’t
Sara
support
the
Green
New
Deal?
*
Susan
Collins
has
spent
the
last
six
years
avoiding
any
unscripted
question

so
why
is
Sara
imitating
her?

The old politics of ducking debates and avoiding unscripted questions does not work given the level of crises we face. It's playing it too safe; it's too fearful; it's too afraid to lead. Sara’s absence today speaks volumes.

We don’t need more of the same. Maine needs a Senator who is not afraid to lead, who is not afraid to be accountable to voters. Can you chip in today to help make that happen? [[link removed]]
