John,

This month, I introduced the Transgender Health Care Access Act — a bill that would expand access to life-saving health care and fund programs that train health care providers in providing gender-affirming care.

As Donald Trump and Republicans continue to target and dehumanize trans Americans, this bill would ensure that gender-affirming health care remains accessible. And I would love your support.

Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of the Transgender Health Care Access Act and help us send a message that we won’t rest until all Americans receive the dignity, equality, and health care they deserve?

Republicans’ obsession with trans people isn’t just weird — it’s incredibly dangerous. This has become an important conversation that I’m having with constituents.

At a recent town hall, I was asked why I voted against a bill that would exclude trans students from after-school sports. I did not shy away from the real answer.

I was an educator for years, and what I know from that experience is that Congress should never pass a bill making it illegal for any kid to play on a sports team — and that’s what that bill did.

These conversations are important because Republicans’ crusade against the LGBTQ+ community is designed to stoke fear and division.

Dispelling pre-conceived notions about trans people, having tough conversations, and pushing for legislation like the Transgender Health Care Access Act are how we can protect one another and defend life-saving care.

If you’re with me, please add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Transgender Health Care Access Act to protect trans Americans and the evidence-based care they depend on.

Thank you,
