Delivering on Promises to the American People

Republicans in both the House and Senate are united behind President Trump and ready to make good on our promises to the American people. I am working hard to ensure we are achieving our goals of keeping taxes low for American families and job creators, reestablishing American energy dominance, securing the southern border, restoring peace through strength, and securing historic spending reductions while protecting essential programs. 

When you lock in tax rates to avoid a massive tax hike on American families, that alone will spur trillions of dollars more investment in our economy. This week, the House took a critical first step to delivering President Trump’s agenda in one big, beautiful bill by passing the budget resolution and delivering for hard working families who have been struggling for too long. I proudly voted for this resolution and spoke on the House floor to urge my colleagues to support it as well.

Defending the Integrity of American Elections

American citizens — and only American citizens — should decide American elections. That’s why this week, I proudly voted in support of the SAVE Act, which puts in place commonsense safeguards to prevent noncitizens from abusing our democratic process. 

The right to vote is a foundational principle of the United States of America, and its integrity must be protected. The SAVE Act requires individuals to provide proof of United States citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections. This legislation passed the House, and I urge my Senate colleagues to pass it so President Trump can sign it into law.

Congratulations App Challenge Winners!

This week, I welcomed two of our three 2024 Congressional App Challenge winners, Ujesh Chakravarty and Luca Cardinale, to the Capitol building to congratulate them on their hard work. Together with Muhammad Khan, these students from Haynes Academy took the initiative to create an app aimed at helping their peers called Minds2Heal. 

As a former computer programmer, I am impressed to see students from Southeast Louisiana take an interest in developing technology to help improve the lives of their peers, and I applaud their initiative to tackle everyday challenges with creativity.
