Angry, unacceptable, utterly devastated, and scared.
These are just some of the words that teachers used to describe how they felt when the current administration announced the dismantling of the Department of Education.
We’re going to step back and explain how this recent move impacts our movement and how we’re fighting back, but if you’re already with us,
can you step up and donate $25 to help fuel our work? >>
John, for decades, the Department of Education worked to protect students and help deliver on the promise of a free and quality education for all. Gutting the department impacts student support and protections, teacher training, essential funding, and so much more.
It also puts students and educators in danger.
Under the previous administration, we worked with the Dept. of Education to inform caregivers about secure gun storage and on ways to combat the threat of gun violence in the classroom and in our communities.
This is a loud and clear refusal to keep our schools safe.
We were making great progress, but now ALL that work is at the risk of being
backtracked But here at Teachers Unify, we’re not stopping the work to keep our kids and educators safe, even if the Trump administration is.
We’re mobilizing educators across the country to speak out against this administration's attempt to remove vital protections for school safety. But we need allies in this movement to ensure we have the resources to fuel our work.
So please, can you give $25 today to fund our fight to end gun violence in our schools and communities?
