One lesson I learned early on is that sometimes justice requires a fight.

At the foot of my dad, a small-town lawyer in Lexington, I grew up hearing stories at the dinner table about taking on our neighbors’ causes as our own.

It’s a sentiment I bring to every conversation I have with North Carolinians. As we discuss our hopes and concerns for the future, I recognize progress will not come easily — but I’m prepared to fight, because building a better future for the next generation is worth it.

So you see, when we win this election in November, we’ll do more than flip a Senate seat — we’ll prove that North Carolinians are committed to change. But to send this important message, I’m counting on your support. If you can, please chip in to help our campaign build the resources we need to defeat my opponent.

The truth is, Thom Tillis has failed North Carolina. Just take a look at his record, and you’ll see for yourself:

  • Tillis proudly made it “illegal” for North Carolina to expand Medicaid;
  • He voted repeatedly against the Affordable Care Act, putting its protections for 1.7 million North Carolinians with pre-existing conditions at risk;
  • And he voted seven times to cut funding for the Centers for Disease Control.

There is a lot of work ahead to address the challenges we’re facing, but together, we can be changemakers as we fight to replace Tillis and create a more prosperous North Carolina. Sometimes change requires a fight.

If you agree, I hope you’ll consider joining this fight by pitching in to support our campaign before our fundraising deadline in a few days. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.
