Nabilah Islam is a progressive candidate running for Congress in Georgia’s 7th Congressional District. We’re both endorsed by Brand New Congress, and over the past few months, we’ve had many late-night calls about our campaigns. She’s one of the candidates I’m most excited to have as a colleague and friend in Congress.
Nabilah is the daughter of working-class immigrants from Bangladesh. She has received despicable Islamophobic attacks, but as she said in an article in The American Prospect, “My name is Nabilah Islam. It’s an American name.”
