South Asia
Please pray for a young woman recently rescued from sexual violence and forced labor. This 18-year-old had taken what she thought was a good job to help her impoverished mother. Instead, a trafficker took her 600 miles away, sexually assaulted her, and forced her to clean houses. IJM and our partners across multiple states collaborated with authorities to find and rescue her. Pray for her healing and comfort as she settles back home, and pray for justice in her legal case.
Africa & Europe
Praise God for a breakthrough in IJM Kenya’s Baby Pendo case, as the Court of Appeal upheld the right of victims and survivors to participate in criminal proceedings. We are grateful for the judges’ firm stand against delays and attempts to derail justice in the case. Pray for continued momentum, protection for all involved, and for truth and accountability to prevail.
Latin America
Praise God for the opportunity to partner with Compassion International to train 20 pastors in El Salvador. During the training, these pastors will focus on the biblical framework of justice, and how to advocate for women and children who are experiencing violence. They will also learn how to later train other pastors and members of their congregations. Please pray that God will extend His protection to the most vulnerable through this initiative, and bless these pastors and their families as they respond to His call to serve those in need.
Asia Pacific
Praise God for the safe repatriation of 569 Indonesians who were trafficked and forced into scamming operations in Myanmar. We thank God for the efforts of the Indonesian and Thai governments, IJM and partner organizations who provided crucial support in their rescue and reintegration. Please pray for the 10 Indonesians still stranded, that they may be safely returned home, and for continued efforts to dismantle human trafficking networks and bring justice to the perpetrators.
