Protect Voting Rights: As a voting rights organization, the New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is vehemently opposed to any additional barriers that would make it more difficult to register to vote and also make it more difficult for our voices to be heard at the ballot box. With attacks on voting rights from the federal and state levels, NPP will continue to advocate for the expansion of voting rights to ensure all eligible voters are able to vote in every election – twice a year.
Defend the Judiciary: Now more than ever before, we must ensure that our state and federal courts remain fair and independent. The independence of the judiciary should be protected – especially from other branches of government. When the legislative branch and the executive branch are usurping their authorities and putting the priorities of billionaires over the good of the people, it is the courts that people historically have turned to for justice.
Whether it’s ensuring that PA has fair congressional maps, protecting voting rights, or protecting access to abortion, all impact our daily lives, and it’s critical that people understand how important the courts are and how they’re protecting our rights and freedoms.
Now that the Wisconsin Supreme Court race is over, Pennsylvania is the only state left in the entire country with judicial elections happening this year. That is why it’s so important that we get to work NOW to ensure voters are informed about what is on the ballot.
