"Extremely troubling" that US can’t provide details on mistakenly deported man, judge says
A federal judge on Friday lambasted a government lawyer who couldn't explain what, if anything, the Trump administration has done to arrange for the return of an innocent Maryland man who was mistakenly deported last month to a notorious prison in El Salvador. The US government attorney also struggled to provide any information about the whereabouts of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, despite Thursday’s ruling from the Supreme Court that the Trump administration must bring him back. If the Trump regime can arrest and disappear an innocent man without a warrant, apparently lose track of him, and simply defy court orders to bring him home, then it's genuinely fair to ask if we're still living in a democratic republic bound by the rule of law.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump to be personally sued in surprise update
A civil suit for defamation brought against Donald Trump was just given the green light by a federal judge in Pennsylvania, who ruled that the case against the MAGA cult leader by a group of Black and Hispanic men once erroneously dubbed "The Central Park Five" can proceed, despite protestations from the president. Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron Brown, and Korey Wise — now rightfully known as the Exonerated Five — were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for a 1989 rape and assault in Central Park they did not commit. Despite being fully exonerated in 2002, Trump continued for years to claim otherwise and in his October 2024 debate with Kamala Harris told a nationwide television audience that the five men committed murder and pleaded guilty to the attack. Brian Tyler Cohen and Glenn Kirschner discuss the ramifications of the new ruling in the latest episode of "The Legal Breakdown."

New poll shows critical GOP Senate seat in MAJOR danger
Dan Osborn for Senate: A stunning new poll shows that just a few days after union leader Dan Osborn launched his campaign to unseat DOGE cheerleader and billionaire GOP Senator Pete Ricketts, Osborn is LEADING the incumbent by a point. If we're to have any hope of retaking the Senate in 2026, we need Osborn to defeat Pete Ricketts and fill his seat with someone who shares our values. Will you chip in to help snatch away a Senate seat the GOP can't afford to lose?
Trump's trade war has shattered consumer confidence
Americans have a really bad feeling about the economy thanks to Donald Trump’s catastrophic trade war against the rest of the world. Consumer sentiment fell nearly 11% from March to April and 34% from this time last year, according to new data from University of Michigan’s authoritative survey, released Friday. The drop continued a three-month trend brought about by Trump’s vow to impose tariffs on products imported to the US, a promise the MAGA cult leader fulfilled last week in what he called a “Liberation Day” ceremony at the White House. It is so good to be great again.
The Wall Street Journal torches Trump for "hurting his own cause and country" instead of China: "Making it up as he goes"
The Wall Street Journal, not exactly a bastion of liberal commentary, continued its assault on Donald Trump’s inane trade policy in a new editorial questioning if he even has a "China trade strategy." "It’s all going according to plan, says the White House, and you almost have to smile at this spin in trying to sell President Trump’s partial tariff reversal this week as a triumph,” began the Journal in its opening salvo. "The reality is that Mr. Trump is making it up as he goes, and it would help if he had an actual strategy to deal with China in particular." Yes! It would help a great deal if the MAGA cult leader had any strategy whatsoever. Instead, we have a cartoonishly simple and vainglorious man taking terrible tariff advice from unserious sycophants and a Congress completely unwilling to rein any of them in.

Douglas Murray, conservative British journalist, confronts Joe Rogan on his own show for giving "dangerous" and "fringe" voices a platform: "It's weird!"
It is, in fact, very weird! Almost as if Rogan excels in faux-provocative flame-fanning and actually lacks elementary critical thinking skills. Almost!
Reported details of Trump's official Greenland takeover plan are a head-scratcher
The MAGA cult leader's latest scheme to somehow acquire or absorb Greenland apparently involves a charm offensive, despite blustery threats of a military-backed takeover. Trump’s braintrust, if you can call it that, has begun formulating advertising and social media outreach efforts ― one of which is to pitch the link between the Inuit people of Alaska and the Inuit residents of Greenland. The latter are descended from Inuit people who migrated out of Alaska centuries ago. And if all else fails, the wannabe dictator with an imperial itch is also considering outright bribes, to the tune of $10,000 per year per resident to win them over.

FBI agent resigns, exposes Trump corruption
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: Veteran FBI agent John Sullivan worked to protect our country for 17 years under multiple presidents from both parties and even worked on the January 6th cases. But he has just resigned in protest of Donald Trump's outrageous attempts to wield our law enforcement to serve his own ambitions and the way he's putting our country in serious danger, and sat down with Brian Tyler Cohen to expose his corruption and abuse.
